VA clinic just called. Confusing number to pop up on a Sunday, but anyway... my cholesterol is a tad bit high*. So I'll keep an eye on that. I also have inflammation somewhere (they don't know) and my labs last year said that too so the doctor doesn't want to put me on any medication just yet until they figure that out.
But they have arranged a consult with a neurologist to see wtf is going on with my neuropathy (SO MANY NEURO WORDS), so they should be giving me a call to set up an appointment soon with that.
Things are happening. It's weird. I don't know how to feel about it. I'm so used to things with the VA and doctors being at this giant stalemate. So "OMG THINGS ARE HAPPENING" is a weird feeling for me. There's anxiety mixed in with some cautious excitement and a large and general sense of panic. But that may also be my anxiety about doctors mixed in there. Seriously, not had a great record with doctors. When doctors are abusive fuckers it really sticks with you.
Yeah. Brain muddled right now. Slight panic setting in. Confusion. Stuff.
Gonna take a breather now and do something for funsies.
*I've never actually had this problem, so I have to switch to research mode soon and look up ways to balance that out. Yay growing up?

Fun(ny) story behind this one... this picture is brought to you by vodka! At least originally. I was drunk when I decided I wanted to doodle a romantic elf couple. AND SO I DID. And was surprised to find, the next morning, that I was actually happy with how it turned out.
I forgot about it for a couple of months, then found it in a pile of unfinished/abandoned art. Decided "hey why not finish it" so I inked it, colored it, and here we are.
It's been ages since I did something purely in my own selfish interest, from the heart, for nothing and no one. Just my own image. Not for a game, or an illustration of something, or a commission, or a comic... just art from my soul. And vodka.
And dammit, I'm glad I did it.
