Oh, come on! Really?
Dec. 20th, 2011 03:16 pmThe VA called while I was in the shower (I swear they're one of the people that have cameras around the house and schedule their phone calls to one of the very few times I can't answer) and left a message about my appointment tomorrow. I call back. Turns out the doctor suddenly won't be in tomorrow! I'll give him the benefit of a doubt, he might be ill. In which case I wouldn't want to go see him anyway. But it's still a bit frustrating so last minute.
Anyway, his first available slots? FEBRUARY. I swear the woman on the phone heard my jaw drop and very quickly undrop out of a lack of surprise. She rechecked and, oh, wait! There's one on January 31st. I took that one. I should have asked her to put me on a list or something in case a sooner one pops up, but eh. This is their busy season (hell winter even sucked when I worked at a chiropractor's office - EVERYONE wanted in) and it sounds like there's a small shortage of doctors right now.
Bah.
Tomorrow is still something to look forward to, even without being poked with needles and talking about my weight problems and MRI results with a stranger. I miss my old PCP... she still has an office in Denton but even her low rates are still a bit much for me.
But anyway. Get to see lovely friends I haven't seen in what feels like ages, get to drink homemade cider that I should be working on today with
roq... excited! Oh and a white elephant party. I hope Will's ThinkGeek package comes in today. It should have been here last week. He paid for three day shipping, ordered his stuff before I did, and my lowest-rate deal STILL got here before his. WTF?
In the meantime I am sitting here watching Chasing Amy for the first time. Yes, first time. Hush. ;P hehe
