Jul. 3rd, 2013 11:38 amCalled the VA clinic in Denton to reschedule my appointment to a morning appointment because I know they'll want labs and their labs are only open until, like, noon. Their next available morning appointment was in early August. Ugh. Fine, I took it. What's another couple of weeks?
Then I called the hospital. OH GOOD FUCKING LORD.
On hold with them for 15 minutes, finally get transferred to the right clinic , it hangs up. OH COME ON!
Call again. The clinic extension she gave me was wrong. Was tossed around a few times but luckily far quicker. Got to the gastro clinic FINALLY.
And are you KIDDING ME?!
So storytime: I was sent an appointment letter a while ago for the gastro clinic. No details on WHY. So I finally FINALLY got a hold of the gastro clinic (now that the appointment is in less than a week)... I figured it'd be an appointment for one of the two procedures they put in for in which case I needed to know about prep stuff.
And guess what? Those two procedures? NEVER PUT IN FOR! Just a "note on my file", no one actually tried to schedule anything. So it could be another few MONTHS. And next week's appointment? SO tempted to cancel, because it's a "three month follow-up"... a follow-up for... a consultation appointment. WHAT AM I FOLLOWING UP ABOUT?! The fact that NOTHING'S been done because the doctor completely dropped the ball? So I get a ride ALL THE WAY to downtown Dallas, wait forever, go in there, and take five minutes to say "yeah the problem's still there, no one's done anything, and this appointment is fucking pointless".
The gal who answered the phone seemed to feel pretty bad about it, but it's not like it was her fault so I didn't get snippy at her or anything. She paged the doctor and said she'd do everything she could to get those orders in before the holiday screwed them all up. I might call back on Friday just to see if that worked.
Gah. I don't really hate the VA, not at all, they've been a huge blessing these last few years. But good lord sometimes their complete lack of order and coordination drives me nuts.
