shingaFinished two commissions today, started on one more but made myself stop for the day at 5. I can pick this up again in the morning and get some stuff done before therapy.
This is... this is good. After my weird breakdown yesterday, I really needed this win. Especially since the thing to set me off yesterday actually WAS one of these now-finished commissions because I'd been sketching the damn thing multiple times over two weeks and couldn't get the pose right. I broke into panicked tears and spent way too long just... freaking out. About art, money, self-sufficiency, independence, etc. It really was just a last-straw sort of thing, I'd been a bit stressed but ignoring it for a while now. But Will was home for the day and very helpful. We put in a fun movie (Hellboy) for distraction and we relaxed and I started to feel better in no time.
It was Monday so that night my friend came over and she worked on my doom-hair for a while. It's making really great progress, and should be done soon. I'm so excited and anxious and impatient all at once. We watched more movies. The night lasted longer than usual and I didn't get to sleep until after 1.
Woke up around 7:30 and started work ASAP. I don't know, maybe I needed that breakdown yesterday because I was on fire right off the bat. The pose that's been haunting me was suddenly easy, the other commission's detail problems seemed simple. I sketched, inked, colored, and they paid, all in one day.
Also checked bills today, I know I've overpaid a few times this year so far so most of them have some credit. That's still the case, so I'm glad.
If this next commission is as easy to finish and as quickly I might be able to spend the $90 on the corset I want without too much self-loathing and guilt. ;)
