“Where are you right now?”

The soft grass below them created a soft bed of dew that tickled her cheek as she turned to look at him. She smiled. “Here,” she said.

He rested a hand on her hip and tapped it playfully. “You know what I mean.”

Her smile quickly became a frown and she sat up. “Does it matter where my body is? I'm here, with you..”

Giving a gentle sigh, he sat up as well and nuzzled at her neck. “I don't mean to upset you, love,” he said. “Are you with him?”

Her cheeks rose in color and she averted her eyes. “You said you didn't mind.”

“I don't,” He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek over and again. “Love is not finite... loving him does not mean you cannot love me just as much. You have nothing to be ashamed of.”

“I just... get lonely when I'm awake,” She drew her knees up to her chin and leaned her cheek against them, staring into his dark brown eyes. “And the longer I see him the happier I am during the day. But sleeping next to him... and then coming here, knowing he's next to me... it just all feels so strange.”

“Does he not know?”

She closed her eyes and sighed. “You'd be rather... hard to explain.”

He gave a slight chuckle. “Yes, I suppose I would be,” he held her tightly to him and kissed her hair. “But hiding me from him might be harder on your heart.”

She laughs and leans into his embrace. “Let's just hope he doesn't throw me to the wolves in white coats,” she said. “Though I guess no matter where I go... I can always reach you.”

He smiled for a moment before touching her cheek and pulling her face up to his. “Until you can dream no more,” he said, and kissed her deeply. He smiled as they parted. “Now let's fly for a while.”

They stood and entwined their fingers as they lifted up off the grass and soared into the gray and endless sky.
