It means the fucking world to me that I know I have friends willing to step up and defend me, fight for me, at a moment's notice. They're not blindly loyal or anything, they do this fully informed and willing to take into account that I'm human and fuck up too. Yet they're still there at the front lines if something goes badly.

Considering how many times I've had these "friends" only act like this when they think I'll "owe" them something afterwards... it's a welcome change knowing I can trust the people I'm standing with against whatever life decides to throw at me... or at them, for that matter.

Say what you will about all the shit that's gone down over the last ten years that led me to this odd place in life... but fucking hell I wouldn't trade it for anything at this point.
