Nov. 18th, 2014 04:59 pmI no longer have to go for follow-ups to the specialist in Dallas. Thank GOD. One less reason to be at that shitstain of a hospital.
I think the Dallas VA Hospital was once rated as one of the worst hospitals in the US. Not the worst VA hospitals... all hospitals. It is god-awful.
The parking. Jesus shit, the parking. It's a nightmare. It's a decent sized parking lot and yet it's constantly full. Handicap parking is near worthless because it's the VA so most the people there are disabled. It took us 20 minutes before some one finally pulled out and we were able to take that spot. Ridiculous.
Two of the automatic doors up front were busted.
One of the clinics was being renovated and the giant black tarp covering that area was... unsettling. But hopefully that's good.
When I got back to the labs for my 11:30 appointment there they had everyone taking numbers and there were well over a hundred of us waiting. Took a little over an hour for them to see me. Four vials of blood and it was THAT bad.
Luckily the gastro part of the appointment was relatively quick once I finally got back there (about 30 or 45 minutes after my appointment time)
But they had a brand new vending machine out front.
Priorities, man.
