shingaWas forced awake at around 3am by my ovaries declaring mutiny on my uterus. I guess they just got tired of that bastard getting all the credit? I mean, the uterus is pretty well known... or as well known as it can be when most of society fears female plumbing. But the poor ovaries barely get mentioned. So I guess they snuck up on the sleeping uterus (I guess that it sleeps when I do), one armed with a small but very pointy knife and the other with a fuck-off sized club. And BAM! Started savagely beating it within an inch of its life.
I startled awake and ran to the bathroom. Turns out the uterus is pretty tough, they haven't even drawn blood yet. But it was still enough of a nuisance that I took some Ibuprofen and tried to go back to sleep and ignore the savage battle in my lower abdomen. Maybe the uterus started fighting back, because the pain got worse and more wide-spread. 800 mil Ibuprofen, you disappoint me.
This madness went on for about three straight hours and my patience grew thinner than usual, which is saying something. I had to get up out of bed and sleep in the livingroom because kitty decided he needed to be very very clean and licked himself as loudly and grossly as possible for a good half an hour. Or five minutes. Who knows, like I said, patience? Very thin. Time is relative in these moments.
Eventually either the ovaries gave up trying to draw blood from the apparently armored uterus (+5 to "fuck you, I win") or the Ibuprofen finally found its way there (get a fucking GPS already) but eventually I was able to sleep. And best yet, sleep away from the bed where I was tossing and turning and probably waking Will up and he needs his rest to get better.
So yeah, epic battle between ovaries and uterus. As of now the uterus is still apparently winning, but damn if those things aren't The Little Ovaries That Could. I'll be packing my Ibuprofen with me when I go out tonight, that's for sure.
